Consented pathing sessions become a simple Markov count: people who viewed one page, then the next. Pages already opened in this session are skipped. When a page has no outgoing visits, the card says it is a default pick.

Query strings are dropped. Sign-in, account, admin, and API paths are left out. The same counts feed the Recommended next module on the home page, the notes, and the lab. Segments are a separate rules engine.

Why am I seeing this?
A card that says “7 of 12 visitors who read this went here next” is the share of consented sessions that left the current page for that one. “Default pick, not enough data yet” means this page has no counted next step. Consent off keeps the curated list and does not use this session’s path.
