What GA4 collects on its own

Enhanced measurement listens for scroll, outbound clicks, downloads, search, and video. The log on this page stays here.

What GA4 turns on by itself

Enhanced measurement is a switch in the GA4 stream. When it is on, the tag listens for scroll, outbound clicks, file downloads, site search, and video playback. No extra event call is required. This page logs those shapes locally. It does not send them to Google.

This site drops GA’s automatic scroll. The downloaded tag still registers a 90% scroll, and the page throws away the gtm.scrollDepth push so it does not double the site’s own scroll events at 25, 50, 75, and 90 percent.

Scroll

Scroll this frame, not the page. GA4’s automatic scroll fires the first time 90% of a page is visible.

The site’s tracker is separate. It records 25, 50, 75, and 90 on the real page when consent is on.

Keep going until this frame reports 90.

That last line is the bottom of the frame.

Clicks, search, and video

There is no video file and no third-party player. The buttons only write the log.

Event log

Nothing yet. Use the frame, the links, search, or the video buttons.
